Code of Conduct and Usage Guidelines for Utsav Yoga Centre
Last updated August 25, 2023

Dress Code and Changing Facilities:

Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for yoga and meditation practice. Formal office wear like jeans and trousers are not allowed in the yoga studio. Changing facilities are available in the washrooms to switch into suitable attire.

Mobile Phones and Valuables:

For an uninterrupted practice, students are requested not to bring mobile phones and shoes into the yoga hall. A shoe rack and locker facility are provided outside the hall to secure mobile phones and valuables.

Personal Belongings:

While locker facilities are available, it is recommended to limit the amount of personal belongings brought into the studio. Please note that Utsav Yoga Centre cannot assume responsibility or liability for any loss of student belongings. To maintain an organized practice area, we suggest utilizing lockers for larger bags and personal items, thus minimizing clutter within the studio.

Class Duration:

All classes are typically one hour in duration, although this may be subject to change. Please be mindful of the scheduled class duration.

Yoga Mats and Props:

Students are required to bring their own yoga mats and props. Personal yoga mats will be used for all types of classes, while some common props like Aerial Hammocks and Bolsters are available for common use. Students can sanitize these common mats using standard sanitizers which are neutral in fragrance.

New mats and props are available for purchase on the premises; kindly inquire with staff members if interested. We also provide limited quantities of shared props within the studio, which are sanitized and cleaned on a weekly basis.

Hydration and Refreshments:

Stay hydrated throughout your practice. Bring a reusable plastic or metal water bottle; we don't allow glass bottles in the studio due to safety concerns. RO water is available in the studio, feel free to refill your water bottle as needed. Refrain from consuming food, snacks or any soft- drinks during the practice.

Arrival Time and Entry Policy:

It's recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes early for your scheduled class. This allows ample time to comply with safety policies and facilitates a smooth check-in process. Late entry may be denied at the teacher's discretion.

Leaving Classes Early:

We kindly discourage leaving before the session is completed. In situations where you need to depart early while others are in a state of deep relaxation or actively practicing , kindly make sure that others do not get disturbed. Please try to leave as discreetly and quietly as possible allowing everyone to maintain their focus.

Health and Safety:

It's important to disclose any medical conditions to the teacher before class. Refrain from any practice that feels uncomfortable or unsuitable for your health condition. Students are responsible for their own safety and agree to indemnify Utsav Yoga against any injuries or health issues.

Hygiene and Cleanliness:

Utsav Yoga places a high emphasis on maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for the safety and comfort of all participants. To uphold these standards, we kindly request that all members maintain personal cleanliness, sanitize yoga mats and props, practice proper hand hygiene, cover coughs and sneezes, use reusable water bottles and avoid attending when unwell. Your dedication to hygiene safeguards the health of our yoga community at the Utsav Yoga Centre.

Environmental Responsibility:

Utsav Yoga is committed to environmental responsibility. Please help us maintain a clean and eco-friendly space by disposing of waste in designated bins and minimizing plastic usage.

Utilization of Outdoor Space:

When available, Utsav Yoga may utilize outdoor spaces by relocating classes to open areas. This provides an opportunity for students to practice in natural surroundings.
